Students from across HRUC (Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge Colleges) marked the end of the academic year with celebrations, exhibitions, and creative showcases.
Immensely proud
Richmond upon Thames College students demonstrated their creative skills at a showcase at Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham on Friday 12 June. The event included a display of artworks, an interactive exhibition, work from media students, and live music, theatre and dance performances.
Jo Terrell, Head of School for Creative Arts at Richmond upon Thames College, said: “None of this would be possible without the commitment, creativity, and resilience of our students. They should all be immensely proud of what they have achieved.”
On the big screen
Later in the month, media students from Uxbridge College had the opportunity to see their work on the big screen at this year’s Final Major Project film screening on Tuesday 23 June. Held in partnership with London South Bank University, where the screening took place, students presented a diverse and impressive body of work.
Creativity and ingenuity
The following day, Harrow College’s art, design and media students showcased their work at an Art and Design Exhibition in the college’s Hadid Building.
The work ranged from fine art and sculpture to fashion, photography, and interior and 3D design.
An art exhibition also took place at Uxbridge College on Wednesday 24 June. The displays included 2D and 3D art, installations, sculptures, architectural maquettes, graphics, posters and films.
Level 3 Art Lecturer Ines Rebelo said: “The exhibition celebrated the creativity and ingenuity of students in all shapes and colours.”
Highly imaginative
This was followed by a fashion show at Uxbridge College on the evening of Thursday 25 June, where students proudly presented their original designs on the runway.
Kiran Khan, Fashion Course Leader, said: "The students worked incredibly hard alongside their tutors, technicians, and media staff to present their highly imaginative garments to a professional standard."
Truly inspiring
Rose Etim-Ibom, Head of School for Health and Social Care and Creative Studies at Uxbridge College, said: “Our end-of-year celebrations were a fantastic showcase of our students’ creativity, talent, and dedication. Seeing learners proudly present their work and celebrate their achievements was truly inspiring and a fitting reflection of the hard work and passion they have shown throughout the year.”
