Uxbridge Campus recently hosted a highly successful Higher Education Student Conference, welcoming approximately 150 students from all campuses across Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge Colleges for a day of collaboration, learning and inspiration.
The conference provided students with a valuable opportunity to experience a professional conference environment while developing key academic and personal skills. Throughout the day, students engaged in a variety of sessions including:
- Study skills workshops
- Interactive feedback activities designed to capture their experiences at HRUC and
- Discussions exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on learning.
Opportunities to network, collaborate and enhance HE at HRUC

A key focus of the event was ensuring student voice was heard, with activities encouraging participants to share their perspectives and contribute ideas that will help shape and enhance the future of Higher Education at HRUC.
Students also took part in collaborative group activities, creating opportunities to connect with peers from different campuses, build networks and share experiences.
Feedback highlighted how much students valued the chance to engage with others beyond their own college and course.
Inspiring students to dream big and achieve anything

A standout moment of the day was a keynote session delivered by success coach and author, Scott Gregory, who shared his personal journey and offered practical insights to help students prepare for their future careers and ambitions.
The conference concluded with a student raffle, where winners received signed copies of Scott’s motivational book, ‘Achieving Anything’, providing a memorable end to an impactful day.
Asif Khan, Assistant Principal at Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge Colleges commented:
“This inaugural Student Higher Education conference represents an important milestone for HRUC. It reflects our commitment to providing students with more than just academic knowledge—focusing on the development of skills, confidence and real-world readiness. The level of engagement we saw shows that our students are well prepared to thrive in an increasingly competitive and fast-moving world.”
Taking futures to the next level
We would like to thank all students, staff and guest speakers who attended and contributed to making the conference such a success. Higher Education plays a vital role in shaping future opportunities, and our students remain central to that journey.
