Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge Colleges (HRUC) proudly marked National Apprenticeship Week 2026 with a dynamic programme of events across its campuses, bringing together students, employers, universities and partners to champion apprenticeships and future career pathways.

The week showcased HRUC’s commitment to equipping learners with the skills, knowledge and opportunities needed to thrive in the workplace.

Collaborative Careers Workshop with Linking London

The week began with a “Preparing for Future Careers Through Apprenticeships and Higher Education” workshop held at the Uxbridge College immersive room. Delivered in partnership with Linking London, the session brought together employers, higher education institutions, universities and apprentices for a collaborative discussion.

The workshop focused on what is working well in supporting progression into apprenticeships and higher education, and how partners can work together to make an even greater impact on students’ career journeys.

Julie Halford from University of Roehampton commented:

“It was an excellent event bringing together our shared responsibilities, and our collective commitment to creating meaningful pathways for future talent. It was inspiring to spend time with like-minded professionals and employers who truly champion apprenticeships, from FE through to HE and who are passionate about making a real difference for learners and our future workforce.”

Presentations and Webinars Across Campuses

Midweek activity continued with apprenticeship presentation talks to students at Harrow College in the immersive rooms. In the evening, HRUC Apprenticeship experts Becky James and Carol Goring hosted an Introduction to Apprenticeships webinar for parents, students and jobseekers, exploring how apprenticeships work and who they are suited for which is available to watch here.

On Thursday, Uxbridge College welcomed EDT Apprenticeships, who delivered a presentation to approximately 650 students across the day. Students also heard from HRUC’s Apprenticeships and Careers teams, gaining valuable insight into available pathways and progression options.

Raising Awareness Across All HRUC Campuses

Throughout the week, HRUC’s Apprenticeships and Skills Team engaged with students across every campus, offering advice and guidance, answering questions and promoting the benefits of apprenticeships as a progression route.

The team also attended external events and met with employers and partners to further strengthen relationships and support the wider National Apprenticeship Week campaign.

National Apprenticeship Week 2026 demonstrated HRUC’s continued commitment to connecting education with industry, supporting employers and empowering students to build skills for life.
