The West London Institute of Technology (WLIoT) has launched its new Research Hub, now live on the WLIoT website.

WLIoT, led by Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge Colleges, is part of a select national network of 21 Institutes of Technology across England, created to deliver high-quality technical education and strengthen collaboration between education and industry. HRUC was one of the first further education providers to be awarded Institute of Technology status in August 2019, helping position WLIoT as a leader in higher technical education.

The launch of the Research Hub marks an exciting step forward, creating a dedicated space to showcase staff expertise, student innovation and emerging research across STEM disciplines.

What you’ll find in the Research Hub

The new hub highlights the depth of knowledge and innovation within the STEM community, featuring:

  • Thought Leadership
Discover the specialist expertise and research interests of our tutors, students and alumni, offering insight into their academic backgrounds, industry experience and the forward-thinking ideas shaping their work. Our first hot topic is focused around developing a series based on AI, you can view the pieces here.

  • Student Projects
Explore outstanding student project work that demonstrates the creativity, technical skill and innovation being developed across WLIoT programmes.

  • HRUC Research Articles
Read research articles written by expert staff at Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge Colleges, exploring topics such as the impact of STEM education, emerging technologies and trends shaping the future workforce.

Coming Soon... A First for Institutes of Technology

The launch also marks a significant milestone. WLIoT will be the first Institute of Technology to develop a published STEM journal, supporting the sharing of research, insights and ideas across the Further Education sector.

The journal will feature articles and research, helping establish WLIoT as a centre for thought leadership and innovation in STEM. Further information will be available on this later this year, watch this space!

A Community of Celebration and Innovation

By bringing together staff expertise, student achievement and research-led discussion, the Research Hub celebrates the talent, knowledge and innovation that drive the WLIoT community forward.
