Heathrow Inclusive Learning Partnership (HILP)
The Heathrow Inclusive Learning Partnership (HILP) is an outstanding initiative empowering SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) learners by connecting education and industry through inspired, real-world experiences.
In collaboration with HRUC (Harrow, Richmond, and Uxbridge College), Heathrow, and over 20 strategic partners, HILP offers exceptional work experiences, workshops, and stirring site visits. These opportunities are designed to boost employability, life skills, and confidence, fostering inclusivity and community engagement while providing valuable industry insights and practical skills.
South London Colleges and Universities Partnership
HRUC are proud to be part of the launch of a new and ground-breaking partnership to boost skills, jobs and innovation across South London and the sub-region.
Bringing together 10 institutions, underpinned by a Memorandum of Understanding, and uniting us under the banner of the South London Colleges & Universities Partnership, the agreement sets out a coordinated focus on skills, innovation and growth.
The partnership is ground-breaking due to its focus on promoting collaboration between Further and Higher Education.
By aligning research, skills provision and employer engagement, we aim to help businesses find the expertise they need and residents move more easily from education into high-quality jobs.
BIG Ambition
The partnership builds on the excellent collaborative work already taking place across the sub-region between further education colleges, universities, industry and wider partners. It will work closely with the South London Partnership – the cross-party collaboration of the London Boroughs of:
- Croydon
- Kingston upon Thames
- Merton
- Richmond upon Thames
- and Sutton.
Looking to deliver on the BIG Ambition: South London Growth, a blueprint for accelerating South London’s economy, attracting investment, and supporting more people into well-paid, secure jobs.

Technical Excellence Colleges (TEC) project
HRUC has been chosen to play a leading role in the government’s Technical Excellence Colleges (TEC) project.
The TECs, located in every region in England, will provide training in trades including carpentry, electrical work, and bricklaying for around 40,000 learners by 2029.
In August 2025, the government announced the first phase of Construction TECs (CTEC) as part of a £100million UK-wide skills investment.
New City College (NCC) was named as the CTEC for London and has now selected HRUC as the lead of the Sub-Regional Working Group for the West London CTEC. This partnership will see the colleges develop links with employers to identify industry demand and tailor their curriculums to equip future workers with the skills needed to thrive in the construction sector.
NCC will share specialist training, resources and expertise with HRUC and the four other colleges in the West London group, fostering collaboration and the workforce growth required to meet the area’s housing and infrastructure needs.
